Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Overview
DiningMetrics ("we", "us") provides weekly operations software for restaurants. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how it is protected. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your restaurant's operational data to advertise to anyone.
2. What we collect
- Account data: your name (if provided), email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash) when you sign up or sign in.
- Operational data: the business records you enter — revenue, labor, vendor invoices, inventory counts, budgets, vendors, and items. These belong to your business, not to you personally.
- Demo data: if you use demo mode, everything you do is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never reaches our servers. Clearing your browser data or using the demo reset removes it.
- Technical data: basic usage and error diagnostics needed to run and improve the Service.
3. How we use data
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To store and calculate the operational data you enter, so your dashboards and reports work.
- To provide support you request.
- To send service-related emails, such as sign-in and account notices.
We do not use your operational data for marketing, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Who processes your data
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the Service: cloud hosting, a managed database and authentication provider, and (when enabled) an email delivery provider. These providers process data only on our instructions. A current list of providers is available on request.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use only what is necessary to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as demo mode. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to operational data is restricted by role-based permissions: users in your organization see only the location data they are permitted to see. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your personal data and operational data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal reasons or brief backup windows.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any right, emailprivacy@diningmetrics.app. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The date above always reflects the current version.
